The core values of WRS revolve around preserving the rich history of Chicago, one commercial building at a time. Specializing in bowstring truss roof repair and reinforcement in historical pre-WWII commercial and industrial buildings, we take pride in our craftsmanship and expertise. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that these architectural treasures continue to stand the test of time, maintaining the unique character of our city and preserving the past.

MEET OUR TEAM
ERIKA VILLARREAL PORENTO
Owner/General Manager
Erika is a chemical engineer by trade, but also a dedicated Mom who has the management skills of a jedi after homeschooling her kids and filling various teaching roles. A first generation Mexican-American, Erika is who our Spanish speaking clients talk with. She also handles the daily office management duties at WRS.
In her free time, Erika loves to exercise and volunteer. When she's not in a spin or barre class she is helping others through the various organizations that she's involved with. Erika is a caring mentor that has a heart for helping others, including the valued clients of Wooden Roof Solutions, a WBE Illinois business.
SCOT PORENTO
Project Manager
Scot has 28 years of prior experience as a chemical engineer and project manager where he learned the importance of working safely, while within budget & on schedule. Scot is our project manager who is dedicated to providing dependable & trustworthy service, making WRS a contractor who does exactly what they say.
As a burn survivor, Scot not only defied the odds by surviving his injuries, he also currently enjoys living a “normal” life. He likes working on DIY projects around the house and spending time doing anything outdoors. You can often find him skiing (both kinds), fishing, hiking, camping, or just sitting outside enjoying nature.
PAUL MITORAJ
Consultant
Paul is an expert in sheet metal fabrication, commercial windows & skylights and more! He is the president of NSS Exteriors with decades of experience in the trade. NSS Exteriors has a portfolio of notable projects, including being featured on HGTV's Windy City Rehab! You will find Paul consulting with the WRS team.
Paul is one of 9 children, and today he's the ultimate girl dad with 4 daughters of his own! You will often find Paul and his family spending weekends at the lake on their Pontoon. When he's not at the lake or working a DIY project in his workshop, you'll find Paul out running or biking, training for a marathon or Ironman triathlon.
