Emergency shoring is needed when a truss or any part of the roof support system starts to fail, and a roof becomes unstable. Shoring work is not seasonal, it's something we've seen a need for year-round. A truss can fail at anytime due to multiple reasons including snow load, neglect, water damage, too much equipment being hung off of a truss, or equipment not being installed in the proper location to avoid a load break. There is definitely an increased risk in winter months, especially after heavy, wet snow, but shoring work is a service that we offer throughout the year.

How do I know if I need emergency shoring service

A customer will know that they need emergency shoring of their roof if they see a fresh break in a truss or joist. Usually a loud noise will be heard when the break occurs, but in general it's typically found by visual observation. Depending on the severity of the situation, WRS will treat this as an emergency and respond as quickly as possible. We approach emergency shoring in a couple of different ways, which will be determined and discussed before we arrive on-site. Emergency shoring is a temporary fix and a proper repair is needed.
